In the event that a display fails to recognize the signal coming from a PC as a source after using the HDMI extenders, users can change their PC resolution and refresh rate to make sure that it matches that of the display. The information regarding the supported resolution and refresh rate of the display can be found in the display’s user manual. This article will guide users on how to change the resolution and refresh rate on their PC.

To Change the Resolution:

In the Windows Search bar, type in Display Settings, and click on the highlighted Display Settings option.

In the Display menu, scroll down to the locate the Resolution header, and click on the drop-down menu to view the list of available resolutions. Click on the desired resolution to make the changes.

To Change the Refresh Rate:

In the Windows Search bar, type in Display Settings, and click on the highlighted Display Settings option.

Scroll down and locate the Advanced Display Settings option.

In the Advanced Display Settings menu, select the desired display and click on the Display Adapter Properties option.

In the menu that appears, click on the Monitor tab. Under Monitor Settings, click on the drop-down menu and select the desired Refresh Rate. Click Apply to save the changes, and then click OK to exit the menu.
